The Winter Games of Idaho is a sports festival created for recreational and amateur athletes of Idaho and the region. Initiated as part of Idaho's Centennial celebration in 1990, the Winter Games of Idaho is designed to showcase Idaho's winter sports opportunities and the state's winter resorts and sports venues. The Games also provide a forum for training and competition among the region's recreational athletes and potential Olympians. While winning plays an important role in any sports festival, the Winter Games strive to emphasize individual achievement and good sportsmanship.
Competitions are offered in the following winter sports:
Alpine Skiing: Slalom, Giant Slalom and Slopestyle
Nordic Skiing: Cross Country and Telemark
Curling, Ice Hockey, and Snowboarding2008 Winter Games events scheduled at Bogus Basin Mountain are:
Media Race: January 27th @ 1pm - all broadcast, print and advertising media invited to form a team and find out what the Games are all about (and gain bragging rights).

Race Clinic: February 13th @ 10:30am - free race clinic for those who want to learn how to race gates or need a refresher
Giant Slalom for VertiGals @ 10:30am and Primetimers @ 11am: February 20th - Giant Slalom races for all women over age 18 on boards or skis. Primetimers race is for skiers or boarders over the age of 50
Telemark: February 21st @ 6pm- night-time recreational Giant Slalom race for freeheels
