Summer Camps

Bogus Basin is the perfect location for day-camp adventures during the summer.  A number of organizations plan science camps, hiking trips and experiential programs on the mountain every summer.  Bogus Basin does not currently operate our own summer camp programs.

MOUNTAIN DISCOVERY CAMP (9 – 12 yrs) 

NEW Day Camp program,  limited to the first 24 enrollees
June 15th – 19th:  Register with Boise Parks & Rec
July 27th – 31st:  Register with Boise Parks & Rec
August 10th – 14th:  Register with Meridian Parks & Rec or Boise Parks & Rec

Cost:  Boise Resident: $86/camper  Non- resident: $132.75/camper

Do you get hot and bored in the summer? Come join us where the air is cool and the adventure never ends! At the Bogus Basin Mountain Discovery Camp, you’ll spend each day exploring the forests, streams, and mountain peaks just outside of Boise City! Follow mysterious animal tracks, build a shelter out of natural materials, hike to the top of More’s Mountain, meet new friends, and draw and paint pictures of
native animals all while sleeping each night in the comfort of your own bed!

Participants will meet each day at Fort Boise Community Center, 700 Robbins Road to be bussed to the Nordic Center at Bogus Basin, and then returned to Fort Boise by 4PM for pick up. Campers will need to bring a sack lunch and water and be dressed for hiking and exploring (no sandals, skirts, etc.).

NEW! MOUNTAIN DISCOVERY CAMP TEEN OVERNIGHTER (12 yrs - 15 yrs)

Do you already know you like the outdoors but would like to take your adventures there to the next level? If so this camp is for you! At the Bogus Basin Mountain Discovery Camp Overnighter you'll hike, camp and explore the forests, streams, and mountain peaks just outside of Boise City. High above the hot weather you can spend the night in a shelter you'll make on your own, learn to create fire by friction, identify useful plants, and learn to make and use primitive tools. Discover your artistic inspiration deep in the mountains and express your creative impulse through time spent drawing, painting, writing, creating music and leather working. Campers will also learn Leave No Trace outdoor skills and ethics. For campers who participated in the Mtn Discovery Camp for 9-12 year olds this camp will be an excellent next step!

Schedule: Monday - Wednesday are day expeditions and Thursday evening is the overnight at the Bogus Basin Yurt. Participants will meet @ 9AM- MTWTh at Fort Boise Community Center, 700 Robbins Road to be bussed to the Nordic Lodge at Bogus Basin. MTW campers will be returned to Fort Boise by 4PM for pick up. After spending Thursday night, the campers students will return to Fort Boise at 4 PM Friday. Campers will need to bring a sack lunch and water and be dressed for hiking and exploring (no sandals, skirts, etc.). Parents call 384-4486 to get in contact with a camp instructor.
