Summer Recreation
Escape the valley heat and join us at Bogus Basin for mountain biking, hiking, disc golf, picnics and more during the summer months. Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area offers free public trail systems in a pristine alpine environment, within easy driving distance for a family day trip.

DAY TRIPS & STARRY NIGHTS
Barbecue and beverages on the patio: The patio at JR Simplot Lodge (
the main lodge on your right as you enter the ski area) is
OPEN weekends 10:30am-4:00pm; Memorial Day, May 29, 2010 through Labor Day, Sept 6, 2010. The menu includes barbecued hamburgers, cheeseburgers, grilled chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, snacks and beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). Public restrooms also available for hikers and day trippers.
Star Party: June 19, 2010, 6pm-midnight at Frontier Point Lodge. Open to the community with nature hikes, constellation tours, barbecue and more. Free to attend, however contributions are appreciated and accepted by the parking lot volunteers or at the food service counter.
MOUNTAIN BIKING
Bogus Basin offers
many trails that are free to access and use from June-October (once the trails have dried out).

HIKING AND PICNICS
Escape the valley heat and enjoy a picnic or hike in a cool alpine environment, a short scenic drive from Boise. Bogus Basin offers many hiking trails for families to enjoy during the summer. Stop by the patio at JR Simplot Lodge on the weekends to quench your thirst and grab a burger.
SUMMER CAMPS
Bogus Basin collaborates with local parks and recreation departments to offer day camps and overnight camps for kids and teens, and family education camps.

The yurt at Bogus Basin is available for summer reservations, offering a semi-rugged camping experience.

WEDDINGS, RECEPTIONS, REUNIONS, RETREATS
Private group events such as reunions, conferences, retreats, weddings and receptions are welcome at Bogus Basin during the summer. Please contact our Catering Manager to reserve one of our lodges for a private group event or meeting June-October.
